I started reading a book today. A parenting book. (I know...I swore I'd never do that. But, as it turns out, I'm not a natural at this whole mom thing. So...I'm reading a book.) And it suddenly occurred to me (because the author specifically pointed it out) that in most of my disciplining attempts I'm really the one throwing the temper tantrum.
It's true.
When things don't go my way I have a tendency to REACT. And YELL. (Yes, people I yell. I'm a champion yeller. If there were Olympic medals given for yelling I'd be a gold-medalist. If some natural disaster struck and disabled all forms of communication I would be able to compensate with my loud, booming voice. Do you see where I'm going with this?)
And sometimes I cry.
Oh, and sometimes I throw things. (Not my children...just things.)
You see? Tantrums.
Post Edit: Lest you think I'm worse off than I am...I'm only throwing things like stuffed animals. Legos. Cheerios. You know...SMALL things.

I'm not so sure you'd win the gold medal because it might very well go to me. :) Not that I'm proud of that.
I had a really bad parenting week last week and I was consumed with all sorts of guilt. I would've never guessed that parenting would be THIS hard! I've read lots of books on the subject and yet it's still a struggle for me.
(GASP) Amy throw TANTRUMS??? I'd offer to swap and help out, but I'm a yeller as well. Thursday and Friday were some tough days at our house with some completely over-the-top-hyper-cabin-fever-ridden kiddos. Oh. And I've read lots of parenting books if you ever want to borrow any. ;) My oldest gives me a run for my money -- always has. I've got some specific ones about BOYS. And about hyper boys. LOL. Haven't needed one for my daughter....yet. Do they have any for teens? LOL She's my obedient one. Phew.
All hail the queen!
You make me smile! Happy Birthday (its today right).
Oh, I am afraid the gold medal in the Yelling competition would go to me...everytime! I have a very short fuse and my kids know how to light it again and again. I would definitely have you beat!
