Whenever my kids see that I'm occupied they immediately go for things I wouldn't ordinarily support. Today, while talking with my Visiting Teachers, the girls promptly begun "cooking" up a menu full of mud pies, mud soup, and mud salad in the back yard.
Ironically enough, my boy was quietly riding his scooter through the back yard...without a stitch of dirt on him.

I guess now I have to let my kids play in the mud. Did you hose them off or what?
Oh yeah...the hose came out of hibernation for this exact purpose. Unfortunately, though, they still managed to get mud/dust/dirt all over my freshly-mopped kitchen, freshly-vacuumed stairway, and freshly-washed bathroom rugs. Grrr.
Yup...that's the problem. It'd be fine if it was just a simple "hose 'em down" routine, but it gets in the HOUSE!! :) I feel your pain. :)
