In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Lindy's teacher spent a little time talking with her class about the late Dr. King. They were then assigned to write their own "I Have a Dream" statement.
Apparently dreams aren't what you would call "lofty" in the first grade.

"I Have a Dream that I could have a puppy because they are cute."
Post Edit: I felt a little better once I read a few of her classmates "dreams" today. Among her wish for a puppy were wishes to "win the new Super Mario bros" and "to be a salon girl". I guess we're not doing so bad.

Getting a puppy is a pretty lofty dream at our house :)
You know that she is never going to give up till she has one.
Reach for the stars, Lindy.
I love it!!!!! Taylor's teacher had them compare MLK's life to their own. They had to write down what his life's goal was and then write down their own. She put her life goal as becoming a teacher. The thing is, her future occupation changes on a daily basis and I am sure that is not what the teacher was looking for. Good luck with the puppy wish, Lindy!
LOL, so cute, they are kuot Lindy! Tues. morning my phone rang at 7:30, it said "Amy & Ian Jones" I thought "Oh no, I hope everything is okay." I answered and there is a little jabberer on the other end, so cute. I talked to him for a little while, then asked if mom is there, more jabbering and finally when I said good bye he hung up. Love little Curtis and his phone fetish, I hope he calls again soon, it made me laugh.
First graders are my favorite! Her writing is adorable and that inventive spelling brings back so many memories.
But here's the real question: Are you going help make your darling daughter's dream a reality?
My kids keep asking for a puppy and all I say is you have a little brother! :-) They just give me that look like they had no choice in the matter.
